Yes, Bowley will be hosting the County again between the 1st and 4th May 2009. Whether your interested in making a booking for your Group, want to attend as a member of staff or keen to be a roving reporter please visit here for further information and booking forms.

Your DC has two copies of a short promotional DVD that you can borrow to advertise the camp and enthuse your young people, please make use of them. Extra copies available from the County Office or your ACC.

Explorers, Network, Young Leaders Activities.

At a recent meeting of the above it was clear that you were interested in taking part in adventurous activities with some wishing to receive training and become leaders.

Interest was shown in activities which came into 6 broad areas:-

  • Water Based
  • Caving
  • Mountainwalking
  • Climbing
  • Snowsports
  • Biking

It is hoped to set up an activities page on the website soon where links to activities HELP can be found.

At the meeting we had offers from people to FRONT some of the sections. I would like these reaffirmed if possible.

Calling all budding reporters

Calling all budding reporters and photographers!

Next year at the county Jungle'09 camp we need YOUR help to keep the presses rolling, We're looking for a team of 4 or 5 reporters to put together the camps newspaper. Whether you're good at writing, taking photos or just want to help out, please let me know!

Also if you don't want to be a 'full time' reporter you can still help by sending in the odd article, poem or great photo, general helpers will be extra welcome. So if you're ...

Young Leaders and Explorers Activities Forum

A Chance To Have Your Say, all of you are welcome!!

On Tuesday 18th of November at 7.30pm. County is holding a forum to identify a Range of Adventurous Activities that Young Leaders, Explorers and Network Members would like to take part in and possibly receive training to lead. We want as many of you as possible to come along, take part and have a voice, in order that we can identify county training needs, costs and 'of course', what you want in the line of Adventure over the coming years.

County Beavers Wild West Event

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the ADC`s Leaders and Helpers who worked very hard at the Beavers Wild West day on 20th September, and made it a great event.

I’d also like to thank Joanne and the team who manned the lane and the car parking. Leaders and parents said they did an excellent job.
