Climbing Wall to Real Rock Climbing - 2 days

A course for those with experience of climbing on indoor walls. Operating on single pitch outcrop climbs you are introduced to the essentials of Ropes Climbing hardware The essential knots Rigging Climbing calls and communication Guide books Route and grade interpretation Abseiling with methods of protecting yourself during descent. By the end of the course you should have a good base from which to build on.

Learn to Lead (out on the sharp end) - 2 days

An ideal course for anyone who has had seconding experience. Either on the wall or outdoors. This course operates on single pitch crag's thus allowing you to quickly progress through the grades. Essential knots Ropework for belays Climbing hardware required for protection Placement of protection Climbing calls and communication Guide books Route and grade interpretation Abseiling and protecting yourself during descent. Under the watchful supervision of your tutor you will receive expert advice and encouragement. The course is delivered by members of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors AMI.

Multi Pitch Rock Climbing - 2 days

Lake District, North Wales or Scotland Our 2 day course can be an introductory experience for those who's spirit of adventure attracts them towards the BIG classic mountain cliffs of North Wales, the Lake District or Scotland. The emphasis is on introducing skills and techniques you will require as a multi pitch climber Ropework Belay techniques Protection choice Guide book interpretation Route choice. An insight into the vast array of equipment available. A low instructor/ student ratio allows close personal tuition to be given throughout. An educationally stimulating, challenging and fun course.

The course is delivered by members of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors AMI.

Self Rescue / Improvised For Rock Climbers

We cover self rescue and emergency improvisation techniques. The sort of problems dealt with are Escaping the belay system Tying off a belay plate Second unable to climb and requires assistance Assisted and unassisted hoists Second climbs past a runner Dealing with an unconscious climber Counter balance abseil Stacked abseil Passing a knot through a belay or abseil device Prusik and Prusiking Stuck or frozen climber. Various other situations that can and do happen when climbing on large or small crags. The ideal course for anyone progressing onto multi-pitch climbs or those introducing others to the sport.
