About me

With being one of the younger members of the team I am building up my experience and working towards qualifications across a range of outdoor activities. Currently I'm enjoying developing ny skills   in rock climbing, snowboarding, canoeing, kayaking, winter mountaineering, ghyll scrambling, gorge walking, walking, i.e. pretty much anything that involves me being outside. My introduction with outdoor activities was through the work of  Positive Futures, a Liverpool -based organisation that works with young people.

From being a particiapnt on climbing activities I quickly progressed through the ranks of being a member to a volunteer and then on to be a full Positive Futures instructor working on various outdoor sessions with young people at high risk, I quickly developed the ability to work well with young people and the ability to manage groups which was noticed by my peers. For a short period as well I obtained a post at Sefton Youth Service working as a youth support worker in local youth clubs, during this period I spent a lot of time working with groups on various activities including Duke of Edinburgh.

Currently I am working towards my outdoor qualifications, to date I’ve completed my SPA training and my first aid and hope to go on and complete my SPA Assessment.. Then begin my Summer Mountain Leader Award and progress on to water based qualifications such as BCU UKCC Level I Coach over the next year or two allowing me to progress as a person and an outdoor instructor.

As well as being an OAS instructor I also take care of all the websites and tec items, which includes development, updating and improvement of the sites.
